VR Company Matterport Introduces Google Cardboard Integration
Immersive media technology company Matterport announced today that it has launched a new app for Google Cardboard that allows users to view Matterport-rendered spaces using Google’s VR device. By integrating with Google Cardboard, a relatively inexpensive VR tool, Matterport aims to encourage its clients, largely real estate professionals, to adopt virtual reality technology to market their properties.
Matterport also introduced two new features to its existing suite of technology offerings: 360° Views, which enables 3D and VR capturing of outdoor spaces, and upgraded tagging functions that allow outgoing links to be included within text annotations of Matterport-rendered spaces.
“Top brokerages and realtors are always looking for new ways to differentiate themselves, to win new listings and bring in qualified buyers,” said Bill Brown, CEO of Matterport, in an announcement. “These three new capabilities are important to help further set agents and brokerages apart from their competition, and are critical innovations in transforming how people buy and sell real estate.”
Matterport VR for Cardboard is now available on Google Play.
