Brain Corp. announced it has raised $114 million in Series C financing. SoftBank Vision Fund and Qualcomm Ventures participated in the round.

Based in San Diego, CA, Brain Corp. is a software company that licenses AI technology to multiple OEMs to convert their manual equipment into intelligent robots. The robots can perceive their environments, control their motion, navigate using visual cues and landmarks, and see and avoid people and obstacles. Brain Corp.’s software deals with cluttered and unstructured environments, including “the last mile” of self-driving cars. It is integrated with a cloud-based robotic operating center to handle complex tasks via remote control.

In its announcement, the company said the investment will be used to further develop AI technology and create brains for multiple types of commercial and consumer robots.
