Vangst, a leading employment resource for the cannabis industry, today announced completion of a $2.5 million seed round. The round was led by Lerer Hippeau, a New York-based venture capital firm that invests globally. Casa Verde Capital, a venture capital firm focusing on the ancillary cannabis industry, also invested.
According to the company, Vangst has connected more than 300 companies with more than 5,000 employees since launching in 2014. Vangst also founded and operates The Cannabis Career Summit, the largest and most comprehensive cannabis career fair in the world. With offices in Denver, CO, and Los Angeles, CA, Vangst is on a mission to add 10,000 employees to the cannabis sector during the next two years.
Vangst will use the funding to continue expanding its jobs marketplace, as well as to improve its recruiting technology. The funds will also be used to improve Vangst’s internal infrastructure and future hiring missions.
