IoT company Yonomi today announced the completion of $5 million in Series A financing led by Gentex, a top supplier of connected car and digital vision features for the global automotive industry, with participation in the round from existing strategic investor Allegion.

Yonomi builds smart home technologies that help people and companies connect devices, integrate multiple platforms, and bring the home to life. Its consumer app, used in more than 150 countries, is capable of performing a wide range of tasks, including sending contextual weather and calendar updates, pausing music during calls, and adjusting temperature and lighting.

“The investment and partnership with Gentex further cements Yonomi’s position as a leading IoT platform,” said Kent Dickson, co-founder and CEO of Yonomi. “I am thrilled to welcome Steve to our board of directors and look forward to working more closely with him.”

Yonomi will use the funding to expand its footprint worldwide, to broaden its smart home device partnerships, and to market and scale its Yonomi Platform commercial offerings, including Yonomi ThinCloud and Yonomi One.
