Pi Charging completed $11.4 million in Series A financing, led by Foundry Group. Silicon Valley Bank, Uncork Capital, NextView Ventures, Eniac Ventures, and E14 Fund also participated.
Pi is a contactless, wireless charger for consumer devices. Using advanced electromagnetic charging technology invented by Pi’s team at MIT, the device can power multiple smartphones and tablets (iOS or Android) at once, at a distance, without the need for a cord, charging pad, or any contact with a surface. According to the company, it can charge up to four phones at full speed, and more devices at reduced speed, even if they’re moving.
