Nextdoor, a free, private social network for neighborhoods, raised $75 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.
By using Nextdoor’s Web and mobile device platform, neighbors create private “neighborhood websites” where they ask questions, exchange local advice and recommendations, and organize virtual neighborhood watches to reduce crime. According to the company, 90,000 neighborhoods across the country use Nextdoor.
