Pixvana, a Seattle-based software startup that builds a video creation and delivery platform for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (XR), announced it raised $14 million in Series A financing, led by Vulcan Capital, with participation from Microsoft Ventures, Raine Ventures, Cisco Investments, Hearst Ventures, and Madrona Venture Group.
The company is currently developing SPIN Studio, a new cloud-based platform for creating and delivering high-resolution VR video where users drag and drop pre-mastered files into SPIN’s cloud storage for automatic uploads. The platform would also allow users to preview experiences in a headset or 360-degree Web player, create custom playlists, and export them to multiple destinations.
