Security startup Umbo Computer Vision announced it has raised $6.8 million in Series A led by CDIB Bioscience, with participation from AppWorks Ventures, Mesh Ventures, and Substance Capital.
Umbo CV is an artificial intelligence company developing cloud-first smart security cameras for enterprises. The company’s newest product, Umbo Light, is a smart, self-learning camera that records and plays back over 30 days’ worth of full HD videos with a surveillance grade onboard SD card. It covers 112.4 degrees across and 129.3 degrees diagonal of image coverage, while the company’s neural AI machine is able to detect people and objects, learn from what it sees, and alert on important events.
The funding will be used for continued development of Umbo Light, expansion of the product portfolio, computer vision R&D, and talent acquisition.
