According to a recent SEC filing, eShares has raised $39.1 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.

eShares is an SEC-registered transfer agent for private companies that enables seed-stage to pre-IPO companies manage equity electronically with the participation of their shareholders, employees, auditors, and attorneys. It digitizes paper stock certificates, as well as stock options, warrants, and derivatives, to create real-time images of who owns what at a startup. Companies can issue stock certificates individually or in bulk, and shareholders can receive and view their shareholdings across all private companies in one place.
