Communications startup Zipwhip completed $22.5 million in Series C financing. OpenView Venture Partners led the round, with participation from Voyager Capital and Microsoft Ventures.
Zipwhip, a Seattle-based cloud texting provider, pioneered the concept of using the cloud to enable mobile, landline, and toll free numbers to send and receive text messages from any connected device. Zipwhip offers a carrier-grade cloud texting platform to help mobile and landline operators modernize the texting medium. Its technology introduces additional functionality while holding true to the distinct culture of texting.
The company revealed that the new capital will be invested in its core network, accelerating the product roadmap and scaling sales and marketing efforts.
