Rackspace, a Texas-based managed cloud computing company, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Datapipe. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Datapipe, founded in 2000, offers a single provider solution for managing and securing mission-critical IT services, including cloud computing, infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, colocation and data centers. The company currently has 825 employees and 29 data centers in nine countries, and it serves markets that include New York, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Datapipe was named to Gartner’s 2010 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Web Hosting.

Rackspace’s acquisition of Datapipe is expected to close in Q4 2017. Rackspace will develop a comprehensive integration plan and plans to maintain and enhance the exceptional customer outcomes that both companies are known for.
