Levels.fyi is a web-based hiring and recruiting app that compares career levels in software engineering and other fields. The founders conceived of the idea when they were hunting for new jobs and found it difficult to figure out which seniority level to target because each company has its own naming and numbering conventions. For instance, a “T3” or “Software Development Engineer I” title at Google is equivalent to Level 59 at Microsoft. With Levels, job hunters can easily compare different job titles assigned to a given role. Currently, the company offers comparative titles and levels in software engineering, product management, and investment banking.
