Consumer startup Ritual Vitamins announced the completion of $10.5 million in Series A financing. Four investors contributed to the round: Founders Fund, Forerunner Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, and Upfront Ventures.

Ritual aims to be a new kind of health brand based on the principles of simplicity, traceability, and ingredients that work best in the body. One in two women in the U.S. takes vitamins daily, but many have no idea what’s inside, where the ingredients come from, or even whether they are effective. Ritual was founded upon the belief that the safest and most effective ingredients should not be luxuries. With its team of biomedical engineers, cell biologists, and deep domain experts, Ritual reimagines vitamins from the sources to the cells.

The company revealed that funding will be used to recruit talent, scale the business, and build in-house technology for customer experience and support.
