Internet and IoT startup HERB announced the completion of $4.1 million in seed financing. Nine investors participated in the round, including Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Slow Ventures, Bullpen Capital, and Liquid 2 Ventures.
HERB began as The Stoner’s Cookbook in 2006 in New Zealand, when two web developers decided to build a website to allow the public to submit and share cannabis-based recipes. Now HERB is a cannabis website and community that curates and understands cannabis as a medicine and therapeutic herb.
In its announcement, the company said the funding will go toward the launch of its new technology platform, the growth of HERB’s video studios, key new hires, and two new office locations in Los Angeles and New York.
