Robotics Startup FoldiMate Secures $3 Million

FoldiMate closed $3 million in seed financing from an undisclosed investor.

FoldiMate Inc., is a California-based startup committed to simplifying household chores affordably through technology, innovation, and robotics. The company has developed a number of prototypes that fold shirts, pants, towels, and more. Its first robotic product, FoldiMate, aims to put an end to laundry folding at home. The company plans to unveil an early working prototype of this product at CES 2018, following its concept debut at CES 2017 last January with a non-working mock-up, which drew strong attention from both the press and the public.

The company revealed that the funding will primarily be used to develop and build additional prototypes and continue development.
