Agriculture tech startup Phytelligence announced the completion of $7 million in Series B financing. Cowles Company and WRF Capital participated in the round.
Phytelligence is a product-focused technology company that develops smart plants and solutions to growers, nurseries, and horticultural experts. It provides custom genetic analysis services that assess the similarity or dissimilarity of closely related samples. The company’s mission is to provide plants free of diseases, viruses, and pests. Its portfolio includes the Geneva series, Gisela series, and Krymsk series of rootstocks. Phytelligence was founded in 2012 by Amit Dhingra in the research laboratories of Washington State University. It is based in Pullman, WA.
According to the company, the new funding will also go toward research for developing and commercializing new crop varieties of apples, cherries, pears and grapes.
