Dote Shopping Raises $7.2 Million

Mobile shopping app Dote Shopping Raises $7.2 Million

Ecommerce startup Dote Shopping completed $7.2 million in financing. Two investors contributed to the round, among them Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Dote is a “virtual mall” that seeks to drive revenue and new users to retailers by promoting their products on its iPhone app. The company curates products, particularly in the beauty and apparel sectors, including brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Lime Crime, Smashbox, Express, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon and dozens of others. Dote users download the free app and are asked to select their favorite brands to be notified about sales and special offers. Users are shown curated trends and can also communicate with friends to show what they’re buying.

The company revealed that Dote will use its new funding for hiring at its San Francisco headquarters, as well as to expand its retail partnerships.
