Dandelion announced it has secured $2 million in seed financing. Three investors participated in the round: Collaborative Fund, ZhenFund, and Borealis Ventures.
Dandelion’s mission is to make it easy and affordable to heat and cool every home with geothermal energy. The company replaces users’ existing heating, cooling, and hot water equipment with a geothermal system that harvests energy from under their yards by moving heat between the earth and their home — according to the company, the most efficient way to heat and cool households.
Dendelion’s technology was originally conceived at X, Alphabet’s innovation lab. It is now an independent company offering geothermal heating and cooling systems to homeowners, starting in the northeastern U.S. According to the company, it is now operational in the New York Hudson Valley and Albany regions.
