Electronics startup 6 River Systems announced it has raised $15 million in financing. Three investors participated in the round: Norwest Venture Partners, Eclipse Ventures, and iRobot.

6 River Systems (6RS) is a Boston-based company founded by former Kiva Systems (now Amazon Robotics) and Mimio executives. The company’s fulfillment automation solution fuses collaborative mobile robots (known as Chuck) with modern cloud-based software to provide operators with an end-to-end user experience. The company aims to provide the first solution in the world to use a directed zone-based picking and replenishment workflow, with Chuck leading the associate through his or her work. 6 River Systems has successfully deployed the solution at leading warehouses and retailers, helping them increase pick and replenishment rates by two to three times in as little as five days.

In its announcement, the company said 6 River Systems will use its new funds to expand market share. The approximately 30-person company will grow to 40 employees by October, co-CEO Jerome Dubois said in an official announcement, with much of the hiring focused on sales, marketing, and customer support.
