Electronics Startup Satellogic Raises $27 Million

Geo-location analytics company Satellogic Raises $27 Million

Satellogic completed $27 million in Series B financing. Three investors participated in the round: Tencent Holdings, CrunchFund, and Pitango Venture Capital.

Satellogic seeks to democratize access to space-based services by dramatically reducing the barriers to obtaining real-time satellite data. The company believes that monitoring changes in real time on a planetary scale will transform people’s relationship with the planet and help the world tackle its most pressing challenges. The company is producing new data streams that offer unprecedented granularity, with the goal of revolutionizing daily decision-making processes for government, organizations, businesses, and individuals.

According to the company, the closing of the Series B round took place the same week as the launch into orbit of the company’s sixth micro-satellite (the third in its high-resolution imaging constellation) on June 15 from Jiuquan, China.
