Big Switch Networks Secures $20 Million

Networking startup Big Switch Networks just closed $20.7 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.

Big Switch Networks is a next-generation data center networking company that seeks to change the status quo of networking by designing intelligent, automated, and flexible networks for its customers around the world. Big Switch leverages the principles of software-defined networking (SDN), coupled with industry-standard hardware. The company has two solutions: Big Monitoring Fabric, a next-generation network packet broker, which enables pervasive security and monitoring of data center and cloud traffic for inline or out-of-band deployments, and Big Cloud Fabric, the industry’s first next-generation switching fabric, which allows for choice of switching hardware for open stack, VMware, container and big data use cases. Big Switch Networks is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, with offices in Tokyo, Sydney, London, and Istanbul.
