uZoom announced it has secured $2 million in financing. Two investors contributed to the round, among them Broadmark Capital.
uZoom offers a geolocation-based mobile application that allows smartphone users to be virtually present anywhere in the world using livestream visualization. Users can request private streaming video sessions from another user in real-time. The app can be used for everything from private conversations to exploring the sprawling city of Bangkok with a local guide.
In its announcement, the company said it continues to raise money that will be used to fund its consumer platform, as well as another initiative related to shopping e-commerce that will be announced in the coming weeks.
