AgTech Startup Ceres Imaging Announces a Funding Round of $5 Million to Optimize Water and Nitrogen Application

Ceres Imaging announced it has secured $5 million in Series A financing. Two investors participated in the round, including Romulus Capital.

Ceres is an ag-tech startup that provides farmers with spectral data to optimize water and nitrogen application. It uses UAVs and aerial photography and spectral image processing to monitor crop variables, and instructs farmers about things like when to apply water and where to find clogs and leaks in irrigation lines.

The company, which has raised $8 million to date, will use the funding to scale in its current markets, to speed entry into new crops, and to hire additional staff.
