It's hard to top this one. Last night, during Muslim American citizen Khizr Khan’s moving DNC speech about the loss of his son in Iraq and his family’s devotion to American ideals, conservative pundit Ann Coulter tweeted, “You know what this convention really needed? An angry Muslim with a thick accent like Fareed Zacaria.”
This in response to a bereaved father’s expression of loyalty to the U.S., complete with holding up his personal copy of the U.S. Constitution for Republican candidate Donald Trump to read. Even conservatives were appalled. “What a terrible thing to say about a man whose son died for this country,” tweeted conservative writer Erick Erickson.
