Mobile Startup Urgent.ly Secures $10 Million
Urgent.ly announced the close of $10 million in Series B financing. Three investors participated in the round: Verizon Ventures, Forté Ventures, and American Tire Distributors.
Urgent.ly is a roadside assistance service that provides connections with repair facilities through mobile apps and websites. Users simply tap on their phones and instantly see locations and availability for nearby assistance — wherever they are in the country, and whatever time of day it is. Users can receive pictures of the tow truck drivers, their phone numbers, estimated time of arrival and maps that track progress.
In its announcement, the company said Urgent.ly will use the funds to expand the global reach of its roadside-as-a-service platform across automotive, insurance and transportation-related verticals.
