Security Startup AppGuard Brings In $30 Million

AppGuard announced it has secured $30 million in Series B financing. JTB led the round, with participation from Dentsu Digital Holdings, Dai Ichi Life Insurance and All Nippon Airways.

AppGuard offers a new approach to prevent breaches from threats that traditional anti-virus software is not equipped to face, such as fileless malware, botnets, polymorphic malware, ransomware, phishing, and other undetectable advanced threats. It automatically and dynamically stops attacks at their initial stages and beyond without requiring detection of the attack, disrupting the user experience, or degrading system performance. It generates valuable “indicators of attack” alerts without compromises occurring. AppGuard is compatible with all Windows versions from XP to 10, standard and custom applications, and typical system maintenance tools, and it supports Windows Server 2008 R2 and above.

According to the company, the funding will be used to finalize the acquisition of KeepTree, a leader in secure video communication technology, and to increase AppGuard’s brand awareness in both the enterprise and SMB markets.
