Consumer startup Smilo announced the close of $3.3 million in seed financing. Three investors participated in the round, among them Brand Foundry and Norwest Venture Partners.

Smilo is a new direct-to-consumer brand for essential baby products, “lovingly perfected by doctors, scientists, and engineers.” The company’s products range from fuss-free bottles to palate-supporting pacifiers. The team has more than 50 U.S. patents, including two for its bottle and four for its pacifiers, which according to the company have already sold more than 30 million units. The team had previously licensed or sold its patents to leading brands sold at  Target, Walmart, and Babies R Us, among others.
