Robotics Company Auris Surgical Robotics Brings In $280 Million

Auris Surgical Robotics Brings In $280 Million to develop minimally invasive therapies

Auris Surgical Robotics completed $280 million in Series D financing. Coatue Management, Mithril Capital Management, Lux Capital, Highland Capital Partners, and NaviMed Capital participated in the funding.

Auris is a technology company dedicated to improving healthcare for patients who need medical intervention. The company’s mission is to accelerate the development of less invasive interventions by promoting precision and consistency of care across each treatment. The company is developing targeted, minimally invasive therapies that treat only diseased cells to prevent the progression of a patient’s illness. The Auris platform integrates advancements in robotics, micro-instrumentation, sensing, and data science with the goal of delivering dramatically improved clinical outcomes for patients.

Auris announced its newest round of funding in an easy-to-miss paragraph on its website, and to date it has maintained a low profile about its work. It did reveal that its first disease target is lung cancer.
