According to a recent SEC filing, software startup AtScale raised $15 million in financing from an undisclosed investor.

Created by Hadoop and business intelligence veterans, AtScale bridges the gap between business users and their favorite visualization tools on the one hand and their underlying Hadoop data platform on the other. Members of the founding team started AtScale based on their personal experiences building business intelligence solutions on Hadoop at companies such as Yahoo!, Klout, and Conductor. After struggling with existing technologies year after year, the founders decided it was time to solve the problems they encountered, so they started AtScale. The company is already working with customers across multiple industries – from direct marketing services to online gaming to consumer retail – to deliver on the promise of BI on Hadoop.
