Tamr announced the close of a new round of financing from GE Ventures.

Tamr, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was founded in 2013 by database industry veterans Andy Palmer, Mike Stonebraker, and Ihab Ilyas, along with George Beskales, Daniel Bruckner and Alex Pagan. The company aims to make data source connectivity and enrichment fast, cost-effective, scalable and accessible to the entire enterprise.

The company announced that Lisa Coca, managing director at GE Ventures, will join Tamr’s board of directors as an observer as part of the investment, which will be used to accelerate product development and go-to-market initiatives.
